There has been another police shooting in Louisiana. State Police say a police officer is one of three people who has been shot in the town of Sunset, which is in St. Landry Parish. Several law enforcement agencies are on the scene and the alleged gunman has reportedly barricaded himself inside a convenience store on Highway 93.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office says the man accused of killing a Louisiana State Trooper is now facing another murder charge. Sheriff Tony Mancuso says they have collected enough evidence to charge Kevin Daigle with the murder of 54-year-old Blake Brewer of Moss Bluff….

The two were living together and Mancuso says Daigle admitted to an altercation taking place between him and Brewer. Daigle is also accussed of killing State Trooper Steven Vincent on Sunday afternoon.

A new poll by Mississippi-based Triumph Campaigns has Republican David Vitter and Democrat John Bel Edwards in a statistical tie for the gubernatorial primary on October 24th. Republicans Scott Angelle and Jay Dardenne are running a distant third and fourth. Pollster Justin Brasell says they interviewed 21-thousand residents and eleven percent are undecided…

Entergy Louisiana and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana will merge together to form a single utilitly company. The consolidation received approval from the Public Service Commission. Entergy Louisiana president Phillip May says the merger will lead to customer savings and make the company financially stronger, so it can improve how it delivers energy….
