A week from today, many LSU fans will make their way to Houston for the season opener against the Wisconsin Badgers. For those Tiger supporters who still want to go, David Fletcher, executive director of the Advocare Texas Kickoff, says there’s still a handful of tickets left…:

The Tigers and Badgers will face off in a Top 25 matchup on Saturday August 30th. Kick-off inside NRG Stadium is set for eight P-M.

McNeese State and UL-Lafayette announced Thursday they will resume a long-standing football rivalry in 2016. The two teams will bay September 10th in 2 years and the contest will be held at Cajun field. Leaders from both schools say these games will create outstanding atmospheres.

The Alabama and LSU football teams each had 11 players on the Preseason Coaches All-Conference team to lead the way among all 14 Southeastern Conference squads. The SEC teams released Thursday had representatives from all 14 teams and half of them had 7 or more selections. The SEC beings the season on August 28th.

Today in the MLB, former LSU standout Kevin Gausman will be back in action. Guasman starts on the mound today for Baltimore against a 1:20pm contest against the Chicago Cubs.

In the NBA, The Pelicans released their preseason schedule Thursday. New Orleans will play two games at the Smoothie King Center, October 14th against the Rockets and October 16th versus the Thunder. They will also play the Dallas Mavericks on October 23rd at the Century Link Center in Bossier City. The Pels preseason schedule begins October fourth against the Miami Heat in Louisville, Kentucky.
