State Police say a Shreveport man is dead after a two vehicle crash on I-20 in Richland Parish. They say an 18-wheeler changed lanes in front of an SUV driven by 39-year-old Preston Jones. The rear of the trailer struck Jones’s vehicle causing it to spin out of control and flip over. Jones, who was not restrained, was ejected. He was transported to a local hosital where he later died. The investigation is ongoing.
The Head of State Police is calling Robert Ledoux a hero for his actions following the fatal shooting of Trooper Steven Vincent. Col. Mike Edmonson says once Ledoux got to the scene, he removed the suspect, Kevin Daigle, off the trooper and with the help of others, handcuffed and restrained Daigle. He says that was an extremely tough thing to do…

Most of the state will get a bit of relief from the oppressive heat that has been plaguing Louisiana lately. State Climatologist Barry Keim says a cold front moving across the Bayou State will keep afternoon highs around 90 degrees with morning lows dropping as low as the mid-60s.
