The seventh-ranked LSU women’s basketball team opened SEC play with a resounding 92-72 win over Missouri. The Lady Tigers erupted for 32 points in the third quarter. Aneesah Morrow had 25 points and Flau’Jae Johnson added 24.

The Ragin Cajuns fell short in their upset bid of 19th-ranked James Madison. The Dukes remain undefeated after a 68-61 win in the Cajundome.

The LSU men’s basketball team tips off SEC play tomorrow night at Texas A-and-M. The Tigers went 2-16 in conference action last year. Coach Matt McMahon says he has a better team this year…

LSU safety Major Burns has announced he’s returning for his senior season. The Baton Rouge product led the Tigers with 93 tackles last season. Ohio State cornerback Jyaire Brown has committed to LSU. Brown was a Buckeye for two years but saw his playing time dwindle his sophomore season. He is  a New Orleans native.
