The Saints are still alive for the playoffs after a solid 23-13 win over the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay. The defense forced four turnovers and Derek Carr threw two touchdown passes. After last week’s loss to the Rams, the Saints looked like they were done, but Coach Dennis Allen says there’s a lot of fight with this team…

The Saints are 8-and-8, and so are Buccaneers. But Tampa Bay can win the NFC South by beating the Panthers next Sunday in the regular season finale. New Orleans will host Atlanta on Sunday and there’s still a chance at a wild card berth, but they’ll need some help.

The Pelicans defeated the Lakers last night 129 to 109 as Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram each had 26 points.

Quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan will call the plays as he’ll audition to be the offensive coordinator for the Tigers in 2024.

The seventh-ranked LSU women’s basketball team ended 2023 on a 13-game winning streak as the Lady Tigers trounced Jacksonville 110 to 68 on Saturday. Angel Reese had 17 points and 20 rebounds. LSU will tip off SEC play on Thursday night at home against Missouri.

U-L Lafayette and ULM lost their Sun Belt openers on Saturday. Louisiana Tech lost its third straight on Saturday, falling to Grand Canyon 73-70. The Bulldogs host Dallas Christian College on Wednesday.
