Still no word on who will start at quarterback, but Brandon Harris continues to take a majority of the snaps with the first team according to Coach Les Miles, who also says the compeition has been fun to watch…

ULM released an updated two-deep depth chart today and redshirt freshman Garrett Smith is still listed as the first-string quarterback.

And Louisiana Tech has received a verbal committment from defensive end Willie Baker, who is listed as a three-star propsect and is getting ready for his senior season at Livonia High School.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees had an impressive showing in New Orleans preseason game against New England. Brees led the first-team offense on three scoring drives as he completed 8-of-10 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns. He says it was important to get off to a fast start…

Brees and the Saints have resumed training camp at the team’s training facility in Metairie. They’ll host Houston on Sunday at 3 PM.

In other NFL news…Panthers defensive end Frank Alexander is done for the season with a torn achilles. The former Southern Lab standout was expected to be a starter this season. And Falcons wide receiver Roddy White needs surgery on his elbow, but is expected to be back for the season opener.
