A federal judge is expected to rule soon if the state will need to redraw it’s legislative maps. The case is similar to the state’s congressional map that was found in violation of the Voting Rights Act. The case questions if lawmakers diluted minority voting for both the House and state Senate. Lawmakers are poised to have a special session to redraw the congressional map next month.
