Tropical Storm Danny is now the 4th named storm of the season in the central Atlantic. State Climatologist Barry Keim says strong wind shear, which tends to break up storms in this El Nino season, does have areas of weakness around it..:

Since it is so far out there, Keim says it’s hard to predict now how or if it will impact the US or the Gulf Coast region.

Two different high school students at two different South Louisiana high schools have been arrested for bringing loaded guns to to their schools. A Plaquemine High School student was charged after information provided by a football player located his gun. The other was this morning at McKinley High in Baton Rouge where 17 year-old Owen Galo was arrested for a loaded 38 caliber gun in his book bag.

The Department of Health and Hospitals confirms the presence of the brain eating amoeba in a water system in Terrebonne Parish. State Health Officer Dr. Jimmy Guidry says it was found in the Schriever Water System in Montegut. He says officials are taking steps to increase the chlorine level in the system to conduct a chlorine burn…
