Three of the four teens charged in the 2022 carjacking death of 73-year-old Linda Frickey of Westwego have reached a plea deal that’s resulted in them receiving a 20-year prison sentence. Legal analyst Dane Ciolino says because of the nature of Frickey’s death, the teens were charged as adults.

Frickey was carjacked in New Orleans’ mid-city and died after her arm was severed during the incident.

The GOP will occupy every statewide office for the first time since 2015 and hold a super-majority in the legislature. Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says they’ll have to find sound solutions to reversing issues that have been in existence for the last four decades.

In the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s race, a single vote gave Democrat Henry Whitehorn a victory over Republican John Nickelson. In Louisiana, political analyst Scott Hughes says a candidate has to request a recount and it predominantly involves the mailed-in hand-voted ballots.

The recount will be performed next Monday.
