A big development in the lawsuit against Louisiana’s current Congressional District map. A panel of the U-S Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals is ordering state legislators to draw a new Congressional map by January 15th. Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says this is a difficult assignment as a new legislature is sworn in on January 8th….

Interstate 55—in St. John Parish is expected to reopen in both directions next week, barring any weather delays. A full closure of I-55 southbound is planned for tomorrow though, beginning at 6:30 a.m.  Of course I-55 north has been closed for nearly three weeks after that massive deadly crash involving 168 vehicles.
