The family of slain Northwestern State football player Ronnie Caldwell has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the university and the apartment complex where he was shot. That was just three days after Caldwell told his parents that his roommate had threatened him with a gun. Attorney Johnathan Cox says they want to know if Campus Advantage ran a background check on the roommate

State offices are closed today in honor of Veteran’s Day. The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs is holding several ceremonies. And because it’s important to continue to raise awareness about veterans and their sacrifices, LDVA Spokesperson Brandee Patrick is encouraging servicemen and women to remain active.

Rain is headed Louisiana’s way this weekend. State Climatologist Barry Keim says highs in north Louisiana will be in the 60s and in the 70s for the southern half.
