The US Department of Health and Hospitals is warning Louisiana that ending Medicaid contracts with Planned Parenthood may be a violation of federal law. Governor Bobby Jindal announced plans this month to cut off payments to the organization citing released videos which apparently show Planned Parenthood officials describing the sale of fetus tissue. The Federal government says this could possibly break federal regulations.

The Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence is warning against telling women to arm themselves as a form of protection from abuse. In response to the recent Geismar murder of Monica Johnson allegedly at the hands of her estranged husband, some have advocated that battered women get guns.
