Republican Representatives Paul Hollis and Lance Harris have been elected to the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education. Both Hollis and Harris agree that attracting and keeping quality teachers is a must. Hollis wants to prepare non-college-bound students for success in the job market.

Republican John Fleming and Democrat Dustin Granger are in a runoff for state treasurer. Fleming previously served four terms in Congress and worked in the Trump administration.  He’s also a physician and a businessman and says he wants to use his experience as a businessman to improve the state’s economy…

The LSU women’s college basketball team is ranked first in the AP preseason Top 25 poll, a first in program history. The defending national champs have a loaded roster that includes superstar Angel Reese.
