GOP gubernatorial candidate David Vitter is the latest to strike in the fued between he and New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu. The US Senator has issues with Landrieu’s public hearings today on Confederate statues. Michelle Southern reports..

The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office says skeletal remains discovered in a wooded area near Zwolle could be connected to a missing Converse man. Deputies discovered the remains while responding to a call of a vehicle parked on a hunting lease. The car and registered driver, 36-year-old Morris Davenport III, had been reported missing on July 9th. Authorities are working to identify the remains.

A CNN/ORC survey conducted after last week’s debates shows just 2% of Republican voters in Iowa would choose Governor Bobby Jindal as the GOP Presidential candidate. UL-Lafayette Political Science Professor Pearson Cross says even though this isn’t good news, Jindal will not give up based on this poll…

66% of those surveyed said they are still trying to decide who they would vote for.

The State Department of Wildlife and Fisheries held a ribbon cutting on a new 3 million dollar oyster hatchery in Grand Isle that will more than double larvae production to seed oyster grounds. Statewide Oyster Program Manager Patrick Banks says the facility will build back up the oyster industry by providing young oysters to damaged reefs and help mimic the natural reproduction process…

Banks says the primary purpose of the hatchery is to get more oysters on public grounds.
