Juveniles toilet papering a home in Welch has led to the arrest of the homeowner. Deputies arrested 71 year old Roger Dale Broderick after responding to a report of shots fired. Around midnight, Broderick caught juveniles in the act of toilet papering his home and fired a handgun. He has been charged with Aggravated assault with a firearm.

 

Insurance Commissioner-Elect Tim Temple has formed an Insurance Advisory Council. Temple has selected five individuals to help develop specific policy solutions to aggressively tackle the insurance crisis

The advisory council will look at issues involving property, automobile, life and health insurance.

 

A new report ranks Louisiana 48th in the country for the health of its women and children. Factors such as an increase in overdose deaths among adult women and high infant mortality rate helped produce the negative ranking. Pediatrician Dr. Arethusa Kirk with United Health Care says the report does contain some bright spots for Louisiana, the Bayou State has a high enrollment in early childhood education, a lot of women have a dedicated health care provider and are going for well-women visits…
