The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the southern portions of Louisiana, which includes all coastal communities. While some parts of the state did get some rain, NWS Lake Charles Meteorologist Marti Calhoun says Louisiana is still under a drought. (:18)

Early voting for the October 14th primary election ends tonight and so far turnout is down 9 percent compared to 2019. Typically turnout for a gubernatorial election is around 45 to 50 percent.
But based on this week’s early voting numbers, John Couvilillion with JMC Analytics expects interest among registered voters to remain low on Election Day. (:20)

A football game at Thibodaux High School ended suddenly last night after Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s officials received reports of gunshots in the area. Following the reports of shots fired, there was a medical incident involving one of the players. But authorities say the two incidents were unrelated and there were no injuries to anyone at the football ame related to the shots fired. At this point, Sheriff’s officials say no crime scene has been found and no victims identified.
The 23rd-ranked LSU Tigers look to bounce back from last week’s close loss when they meet Missouri in Columbia this morning. LSU has struggled, allowing a school-record 706 yards of offense last week. Kelly says if they get better play from the defensive line, the entire defense will benefit… (:18)
