It looks like early voting turnout among Louisiana voters is down 9 percent compared to 2019. The number of Louisianans who cast a ballot Saturday through Thursday is down by 22 thousand. Pollster John Couvillon with JMC Analytics expects interest among registered voters to remain low on Election Day.
A Red Flag Warning has been issued for the southern portions of Louisiana. This means a combination of strong winds, low humidity, and dry vegetation could contribute to extreme fire behavior. NWS Lake Charles Meteorologist Marti Calhoun says some areas of the state are still under a drought.

For almost four decades October has been recognized as breast cancer Awareness Month. Dr. Donna Williams, Director of Louisiana Prevention and Control says when healthcare outlets are able to make breast exams and mammograms more accessible, it saves lives.
Before mammograms were widely used Wiliams says breast cancer was a death sentence, because most were detected late stage, and/or the surgery was so intense that many lost the use of their arm as well.
Louisiana gets hit with a drop in temperature as fall weather hits the Bayou State this weekend. After having to stay indoors for so long due to the excessive heat, State Climatologist Barry Keim says this is the weekend weather we’ve all been waiting for.
Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-50s Saturday morning across northern parishes and the mid-60s in south Louisiana.
