In Saint Tammany Parish, a Junior High school student has been arrested. A 13 year old girl admitted to having made a hit list, because she says she was being bullied by the students listed. The girl was issued a summons for Menacing and later released to her parents’ custody. Sheriff Randy Smith says the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office will continue to work with schools to investigate any and all threats to schools and students.

A Jennings tax preparer is in hot water, arrested after a state Department of Revenue investigation alleges Anthony Candler submitted more than 200 fraudulent state income tax returns. L-D-R spokesperson Byron Henderson says Candler was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish prison

Both top candidates to replace Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the house have been closely aligned with former President Donald Trump. Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise and Ohio’s Jim Jordan may differ on some issues, The Advocate’s Mark Ballard says Jordan has been very outspoken against aid for Ukraine, where Scalise hasn’t been as vocal on the issue.
