Congress has until midnight tonight reach an agreement to avoid a federal government shutdown. Senator Bill Cassidy, a Republican, blames the Biden administration.

During a shutdown, federal employees will be furloughed and those who work in the military and the are forced to work without pay.
Federal dollars are what have enabled the shutdown of new 600 abandoned wells this year. Governor John Bel Edwards says the money is the result of the Infrastructure Law approved by Congress in 2021
