The Saints released veteran receiver Tre’Quan Smith on Tuesday afternoon. Smith had been with the Black and Gold since they drafted him in the 3rd round in the 2018 draft, but has had trouble staying healthy as the receiver has spent time in the Saints injury reserve almost every year. Head coach Dennis Allen says that the move gives Smith the opportunity to play for someone else and says that he still feels good about the group of guys in their receiving core.
