UL Lafayette has seen an increase in the number of incoming freshmen for the third year in a row. A total of 3,066 first time freshmen are enrolled there this Fall. And that’s not all. Overall enrollment is up one percent. And Vice President of Enrollment Dewayne Bowie says the retention rate for students is 76 percent.

A Ringgold man convicted of attempted murder more than three decades ago has been captured in Mexico. Greg Lawson fled before a jury could deliver its verdict back in 1991. Bienville Sheriff John Balance on Lawson’s capture at the age of 63.
