LSU Coach Kim Mulkey, who led the women’s basketball team to their first national championship, has agreed to a ten-year contract worth 32 million dollars. The Advocate’s Scott Rabalais says the hall-of-fame coach has taken the program to the top within two seasons
The contract will make Mulkey the highest-paid women’s college basketball coach in the country. The LSU Board of Supervisors is expected to approve the record deal tomorrow.
This week’s U-S Drought Monitor reveals that 95 percent of the state remains in a drought. State climatologist Barry Keim says many parishes in the “extreme and exceptional” drought areas have gotten worse.
