During the overnight hours there was an officer involved shooting in Caddo Parish. Authorities say Caddo deputies were investigating a break-in at a home on Old Mooringsport Road. Upon arrival, a suspect opened fire on deputies. The officers shot back, killing the suspect and then when they went inside the home they found a deceased female.

Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise announces he has multiple myeloma, which is a treatable blood cancer. LSU Health New Orleans Oncologist Doctor Suki Subbiah says the symptoms for this cancer are fatigue, decreased appetite, weight loss, bone pain, repeat infections and numbness in the hands and feet.
