A large wildfire in Beauregard Parish in southwest Louisiana has led to evacuations. Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness spokesperson Mike Steele says the town of Merryville is under a voluntary evacuation and residents on Neale Oil Field Road have been told they must leave as this wildfire has impacted five-thousand acres…

A new poll shows Republican Jeff Landry with a big lead in the governor’s race. In the survey of 800 likely voters, Landry with 36 percent of the vote. Democrat Shawn Wilson with 26 percent. LA Politics.com Jeremy Alford says the poll shows Wilson collected 60 percent of the Democratic vote.
