There is a tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico moving south of Louisiana towards Texas and it’s resulted in a Red Flag Warning, which means wildfires and grass fires can spread quickly. National Weather Service Lake Charles Meteorologist Stacey Denson.

According to the governor’s office, there have been more than 260 wildfires during this hot and dry summer that have damaged and destroyed more than 3,500 acres.

During an appearance on C-N-N’s State of the Union, Senator Bill Cassidy said former President Donald Trump should end his 2024 presidential campaign. Cassidy says the polls indicate Trump can’t beat President Joe Biden in a general election and the former president could also be convicted of a federal crime by November 2024. Cassidy says he’ll vote for a Republican candidate that plans to address the future of Social Security….

Cassidy says if nothing is done, Social Security will start to run out of money in about a decade, resulting in a 24-percent benefit cut.
