Governor Bobby Jindal announces that Planned Parenthood’s Medicaid provider agreement will be cancelled by the Department of Health and Hospitals. The decision comes after controversial secretly taped videos showed Planned Parenthood officials talking about using aborted fetus parts for medical research. Planned Parenthood doesn’t perform abortions in Louisiana, but they do provide health care services for low-income families. Planned Parenthood has not responded to the decision and has 30 days to appeal.

The Lafayette Police Department says a 35-year-old man is fighting for his life after being shot several times by three unknown suspects in an apparent home invasion. Corporal Paul Mouton says witnesses report 3 black men kicked in the door of the residence and began demanding money from the occupants…

It was three years ago today that the massive Bayou Corne sinkhole formed in northern Assumption Parish, forcing the evacuation of hundreds of nearby residents. Assumption Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness Director John Boudreaux says the area is now virtually a ghost town…

Cell phone encryption is making it difficult to solve the murders of 29-year-old Brittney Mills and her son, according to East Baton Rouge Parish DA Hillar Moore. He says the victim’s iPhone had the iOS-8 operating software and no one knows her pass code. Therefore, Moore says they are unable to access any of Mills’ last text messages, phone calls, or contacts…

Mills, who was 8 months pregnant, was shot and killed on April 24th at her apartment. The baby later died at a hospital.
