East Baton Rouge Parish DA Hillar Moore says cell phone encryption on 29-year-old Brittney Mills’ iPhone is making it difficult to solve her and her son’s murder. Authorities have yet to name a suspect in the April 24th murders.

Shreveport Police are searching for a 27-year-old man who pointed a gun at officers early Thursday morning. Sgt. Bill Gooden says during a pursuit, Brandon Chin, who was a passenger in the car, jumped out of the moving vehicle and started waving a gun at the officer. He says the officer then fired two shots at Chin but the suspect was able to elude the officer….

The driver of the car, 30-year-old Joe Thompkins Jr. surrendered to authorities, but Chin is still on the loose.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s office is investigating the death of a woman who was found nude in an apartment in Pointe-aux-Chenes. Capt. Dawn Foret says they’re still waiting on dental records to ID the victim . She says identifying her is difficult because authorities found her decomposing…

50-year-old Lee Dupre, the tenant of the apartment, is charged with obstruction of justice, but has not been officially named a suspect in the woman’s death.

Today is the third anniversary of the massive Bayou Corne sinkhole that forced the evacuation of hundreds of nearby residents in northern Assumption Parish. Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness Director John Boudreaux says they continue to keep a close eye on it to make sure there are no more dramatic changes…
