A Union Parish jury has convicted former Spearsville Police Chief Steve Bodine on aggravated rape charges. Bodine was arrested in 2013 for allegedly raping a 4-year-old child. Officials say, during the three day trial, witnesses testified that Bodine had raped children ranging in age from 4- to 14-years-old over a 40 year period. Bodine’s conviction carries a manditory life sentnece.

Two daycare centers in Louisiana have had their licenses revoked by the state, one in Baton Rouge and the other in Bossier City at Storybook Daycare and Discovery Zone. Education Superintendent John White says Storybook was found to have an improper child/staff ratio and were not conducting employee background checks…

He says most Louisiana child care providers do an excellent job caring for kids.

New research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety and Columbia University shows older adults that stop driving are almost twice more likely to suffer from depression and almost 5 times more likely to enter a long term care facility than those who continue to drive. AAA Spokesperson Don Redman has some advice if you do have to take the keys from your parents…
