A shooting in Evangeline Parish last night claims the life of a Ville Platte Deputy City marshal and another man. State Police Trooper Thomas Gossen says the sheriff’s office was attempting to execute a search and once they entered a home gunfire erupted. Gossen says the officer has been identified as Barry Giglio.
