The MegaMillions Lottery Jackpot soars to an estimated $940 million dollars. That’s the eighth-largest ever in the U.S. Dustin Annison with the Louisiana Lottery says tonight’s jackpot has a lump sum value of $473 million.

Annison says sales in Louisiana through this MegaMillions Jackpot run that began on April 19th are more than $12.9 million.

Another week of oppressive heat is on the way with temperatures reaching triple digits starting this weekend. State Climatologist Barry Keim says there’s no real reason why the dome of high pressure has parked itself over the south.

Louisiana students who received reduced-price breakfast and lunches will now be able to get free meals thanks to Marrero Representative Kyle Green’s legislation. Green says another benefit of the bill is to end the practice of lunch shaming in schools.

Former LSU Baseball Coach Paul Mainieri will be inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame tomorrow night during a ceremony in Natchitoches.  Mainieri and two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Eli Manning highlight the 2023 induction class, which also includes former LSU wide receiver Wendell Davis and former Tulane star Matt Forte. Forte was a consistent running back in the NFL, rushing for nearly 10-thousand yards and caught over 500 passes…
