We’re under a heat advisory and there’s an extreme heat warning in effect for northeast Louisiana. The Slidell Police Department says a group of organized criminals were busted for stealing nearly half a million dollars at businesses with ATMs and check cashing outlets over the past year. Sgt. A Morgan City man wanted for a Lafayette murder was discovered then killed in a shootout with cops in Baton Rouge. BRPD spokesman Cpl L’Jean McKneely says US Marshals shot 37-year-old Lawrence Blackburn, who they believe initiated the gunfire, at the complex where he was hiding…:
