Natchitoches Police make an arrest in the murder of a man Tuesday at the Motel 6 on Highway 1. 27-year-old Ambrea Howard is charged with 2nd-degree murder for the crime. Natchitoches cops are still seeking 19-year-old Matt Robinson; also allegedly involved in the crime.

 

The police chief in Grand Couteau, in St. Landry Parish, is under arrest; charged with trafficking narcotics. St. Landry Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says the investigation revealed evidence that drugs seized by police were finding their way back onto the streets. He says it’s bad enough the small town has dope dealers…:

Police chief Jeffrey Guilbeau is charged with distribution, theft, obstruction of justice, and malfeasance in office.

Also in St. Landry…a Melville man, is in jail accused of a machete attack on a local Catholic priest. Melville Police Chief Phil Lucas says the town is shaken…:

The suspect is identified as 58-year-old Johnny Neely, who is charged with attempted murder. The priest is recovering from cuts to his head and body.
