The Louisiana GOP is officially endorsing Jeff Landry for Attorney General rather than the Republican incumbent, Buddy Caldwell. Party Chairman Roger Villere says they approved of Landry’s performance in Congress and feel comfortable he is right for the AG’s office..:

In a statement released by Caldwell, the two-term A-G says the state GOP party has never endorsed him before, so it might be bad luck to get it this time.
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s office has arrested an 81-year-old man for allegedly raping a child in the 1980s. Authorities have charged Warren Danos of LaRose with Aggravated Rape. Sheriff’s Office spokesman Brennan Matherne says a woman claimed she was victimized by Danos as a child about 30 years ago…:

State health officials have found another water system in Louisiana that contains a deadly brain eating amoeba. The department of health and hospitals says the presence of the amoeba was found during surveillance testing of a water system that serves 18-hundred residents near Donaldsonville in Ascension Parish. The same deadly amoeba was also located in St. Bernard Parish last week. The state says the water is safe to drink, but take precautions to keep it from going up your nose.
