The Louisiana Republican Party is at this hour expected to announce their endorsement of former Congressman Jeff Landry in this year’s Attorney General’s race. Scott Carwile reports…:

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s office says an 81-year-old man is booked in a child rape that occurred in the mid-1980s. They say a woman called detectives and stated shed been victimized by Warren Danos of Larose over the course of 2 years about 30 years ago when she was less than 10 years old. Danos was booked with Aggravated Rape and posted $5000 bond.

Governor Bobby Jindal is back on the campaign trail. Jindal had suspended his touring for the Republican Presidential nomination in the wake of the Lafayette theater shooting. Today his office says he’s headed to New York for interviews.

There have been three fatal police shootings in the last three days in Louisiana. The latest occurred in Houma where a theft suspect was shot and killed by officers Monday afternoon. State Police Trooper Evan Harrell says a pursuit ensued after a failed traffic stop. He says eventually, officers were able to stop the suspect’s vehicle…:

Officers fatally wounded the suspect and he was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no further comment on this case at this time.
