Governor John Bel Edwards has vetoed a bill that would have made it a crime to get within 25 feet of police officers on duty, saying there is already a state law that punishes those who interfere with cops. A paramedic who was injured in the fatal ambulance crash in Point Coupee Parish Tuesday continues to fight for his life. The driver of the ambulance who was killed in the crash was reportedly pregnant at the time. The patient being transported also died. The accident remains under investigation.
