LSU has forced a second game against Wake Forest after beating the Demon Deacons five to two last night in the semifinal round of the College World Series. The Tigers gave up two runs in the second inning, but Coach Jay Johnson liked how his team responded after that

Wake Forest scored two runs off LSU’s starter Javen Coleman. But Griffin Herring entered the game in the second inning and threw 4.2 innings of scoreless baseball, striking out six. Gavin Guidry and Riley Cooper also performed well out of the pen and Cooper earned his second save in as many nights.

So the big question for tonight. Will Paul Skenes pitch. First pitch is at 6 PM, expect LSU to make announcement around 5 PM.

The lengthy investigation into recruiting violations and impermissible benefits involving the LSU football and men’s basketball programs is finally completed. Both programs have been put on three years probation, but no future postseason bans. Former LSU coach Will Wade, who is preparing for his first season as the men’s basketball coach at McNeese, gets a ten-game suspension and recruiting restrictions have been placed on him for the next two years.

Tonight is the NBA draft, the Pelcians have the 14th pick in the first round. There’s talk about about New Orleans trading Zion Williamson so they can draft G-League star Scoot Henderson. Or Jake Madison, host of the Locked On Pelicans podcast, says New Orleans could also trade down to get a big man…

If the Pelicans stay at 14, they may draft a shooter. Connecticut’s Jordan Hawkins and Gradey Dick from Kanas are a couple of possible options.
