A Colorado jury deciding the fate of Colorado theater shooter James Holmes is being questioned about the media coverage of last week’s Lafayette theater shooting. The concern is whether or not Thursday night’s shooting will influence their their deliberations in Holmes’ sentencing. Legal analyst Tim Meche says Holmes’ lawyers are concerned that the incident in Lafayette may sway the jury’s decision…:

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office says they’ve arrested 15 suspects for their alleged involvement in a somewhat organized heroin ring. Deputies say 12 people remain at large and the group is believed to be responsible for distributing large amounts of heroin in the west part of the northshore parish. The multi-jurisdiction investigation dubbed Operation Fishnet has been going on for 14 months and has just come to an end. Anyone with information on the suspects at large is urged to contact authorities.

A Baton Rouge woman faces charges after she allegedly threatened to shoot someone inside a movie theater over the weekend. East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks says 17-year-old Gaynell Haydel verbalized her threats near the ticket booth at the Cinemark Perkins Rowe theater…:

Hicks says Haydel was charges with terrorizing, disturbing the peace and resisting an officer.

Gas prices continue to go down. The current statewide average for a gallon of regular is $2.44 which is a nickle lower than a week ago.
