Hurd won his sixth game of the season, while Gavin Guidry earned his second save as he pitched a scoreless ninth inning. LSU hit five home runs on the day. Dylan Crews had a two-run blast and Brayden Jobert connected on a solo home run in the eighth inning to snap a five-five tie.
LSU will play Oregon State again today at 1 PM in the Regional Championship Round. The Beavers defeated Sam Houston three to one last night and will need to beat the Tigers twice to advance to the Super Regionals.
The Ragin Cajuns season ended yesterday with an eight to five loss to Miami in the Coral Gables regional. U-L Lafayette fell behind three to nothing in the first inning, but the Cajuns battled back and had the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning. Texas went on to win the Coral Gables Regional as the Longhorns defeated the Hurricanes ten to six to advance to the Super Regionals. Texas will face the winner of the Stanford Regional. Stanford and Texas A-and-M will play a winner take all game today.
