On the eve of the beginning of the 2023 Hurricane Season, we have a low pressure system in the Gulf of Mexico, but it poses little threat to Louisiana. By the weekend, it could either weaken or drift eastward toward the Florida Peninsula with some heavy rain.

 

The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office has completed its investigation into the fatal April 23rd Pineville Police officer-involved shooting. RPSO spokesperson Tommy Carnline says 25-year-old Larry Calk was holding a child and a weapon and threatening to harm the child while on the front porch of a residence. He says officers acted appropriately…:

The investigation has been turned over to the Rapides Parish District Attorney’s Office.

The statewide average for a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.13. That’s $1.10 cheaper than this same time last year. AAA Fuel Analyst Don Redman says thank crude oil at around $70-a-barrel. He predicts a great many will take advantage of relatively cheap gas and get in some travel…:
