Louisianians pay on average more than $500 a month extra per year on our cars because of poor road conditions according to the transportation research group TRIP. The report shows 36-percent of roads in Shreveport are considered in poor condition, 38-percent in Baton Rouge, and 42-percent in New Orleans. TRIP spokeswoman Carolyn Kelly, says the costs to maintain your vehicle in these cities are considerably higher than the state average…:

The State Department of Health and Hospitals has confirmed the presence of a brain eating ameba in the St. Bernard Parish Water System.
