There was a celebration this afternoon at the White House for Kim Mulkey and the LSU Lady Tigers. Even President Joe Biden is impressed with how quickly this group came together to win the school’s first national title in women’s basketball….

Mulkey has seen five presidents in the executive mansion. Four as a head coach and once as a former Olympian after the US Women’s basketball team won a Gold Medal in 1984.

Southern was eliminated from the SWAC Tournament as they fell to Bethune-Cookman 10-6. Bethune-Cookman advances to play Grambling tonight.

Nicholls has advanced to its first Southland Tournament Championship game since 1998 as the Colonels defeated U-N-O five to three today.

U-L Lafayette fans are getting ready for a late night tonight so they can watch the Lady Cajun softball team battle Washington in game one of a super regional series. First pitch from Seattle is at 9 PM. The 22nd-ranked Cajuns have won 50 games this year, while the Huskies are 41-13 and ranked fifth in the country. U-L Coach Gerry Glasco says there will be a lot of talent on the field during this best-of-three series

And the U-L Lafayette baseball team will look to survive in the Sun Belt Tournament. The Cajuns will face Texas State tonight after losing to top-seeded Coastal Carolina last night. U-L Lafayette has won five straight over the Bobcats including a six to one win on Wednesday.
