It’s been almost ten years since oil and gas jobs have declined this much in state, according to the Louisiana Workforce Commission. Mining and logging jobs, where many oil and gas jobs are classified, fell by another 300 last month, bringing the total number of jobs lost this year to 6,000.

By a 3-2 vote, he Hammond City Council has voted down the law to allow establishments – that ONLY serve alcohol – to open on Sundays. A Shreveport man is facing charges after he allegedly brought a concealed handgun into a military recruiting station in West Shreveport yesterday afternoon. Forty-eight year old David Quinn was taken into custody for questioning by Shreveport Police. The primary investigation showed that the gun was not loaded, but he did not have the proper concealed weapon documentation.
