The New Orleans Police Department says 2 young children died after drowning in Lake Pontchartrain over the weekend in separate incidents. They say Saturday a 7-year-old girl was swimming with friends when she went under and was unresponsive when helped to safety. Cops say they also responded to an incident on Sunday in which a 5-year-old boy drowned in the lake while out with his aunt. Both drownings are under investigation.
