The Pelicans announced guard CJ McCollum underwent successful surgery yesterday to repair a torn UCL in his right thumb. He will not require surgery for a torn labrum in his right shoulder and will undergo an offseason rehabilitation program. He is expected to make a full recovery before training camp.
The Louisiana Tech baseball team will return to action tonight against Southern miss. Tech was picked to win Conference USA in the preseason, but they find themselves in fifth place in the league with 12 more conference games left. All-Sothland second team forward Christian Shumate announced he will return to McNeese for his junior season. The cowboy’s leading scorer and rebounder was second the conference in boards and averaged 15 points and almost 10 rebounds a game. He helped lead McNeese to the conference tournament semifinals and broke a 33 year old record for most rebounds in the tournament. First year head coach Will Wade says he’s excited to see what they can do together next season.
