Kim Mulkey and the LSU Lady Tigers are national champions of women’s basketball. LSU scored a championship game record 102 points in a 102-85 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office is mourning the death of 44-year-old Detective Sergeant Nicholas Pepper. He was killed when a suspect rammed into his vehicle during a police chase. The suspect is in custody.

The legislative session begins a week from today and New Orleans Representative Delisha Boyd has filed a bill that would allow an abortion in Louisiana in cases of rape and incest. The legislation faces an uphill climb with Republicans having a Super Majority in both the House and Senate. Boyd hopes conservative lawmakers listen to the debate….
