The LSU women’s basketball program is heading to its first national championship game as the Lady Tigers rallied back from a 12-point deficit midway in the third quarter to beat Virginia Tech 79-72 in Dallas last night. The top-ranked LSU baseball team took care of ninth-ranked Tennessee again last night as the Bayou Bengals beat the Volunteers six to four to win the second game of the series. LSU took the lead for good in the fourth inning with back-to-back home runs from Brady Neal and Gavin Dugas (Doo-gahs). LSU goes for the sweep this afternoon at 1 PM.

Louisiana Tech downed Dallas Baptist five to two. Jonathan Fincher struck out seven in six innings for his fifth win of the year.

The Cajuns lost to Appalachian State three to two, and ULM remains winless in the Sun Belt play as they fell to Marshall 13-6.

McNeese crushed Houston Christian 15 to 5, Southeastern Louisiana knocked off UIW 10 to 2, Northwestern outscored UNO eleven to eight and Nicholls outlasted Lamar nine to eight in 19 innings.

Tonight the Pelicans host the Clippers. New Orleans has won six of its last seven.
