According to new U-S Census Bureau data, Louisiana has four parishes ranked in the top ten for largest declines in population among counties in the United States. Saint John’s population declined five percent from 2021 to 2022, Terrebonne lost four-percent of its population, while Plaquemines and St. Charles lost three percent. Hurricane Ida could be a factor.
