LSU will play Friday night in a national semifinal game against the winner of tonight’s game between Virginia Tech and Ohio State.

LSU center fielder Dylan Crews has been named SEC Co-Player of the Week after hitting four home runs and driving in nine runs last week. For the season, Crews leads the SEC with a .531 average.

Nicholls first baseman Edgar Alvarez has been named the Southland Hitter of the Week. Alvarez had multiple hits in each game of the series victory over McNeese.

The Pelicans Brandon Ingram named Western Conference Player of the Week. Ingram averaged 31 points in three victories last week. New Orleans is at a short-handed Portland team tonight.

LSU needs a new defensive line coach as Jamar Cain has left the program to be a pass rush specialist coach for Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos. On the offensive line, LSU returns it starting tackles from last season, Emery Jones and Will Campbell. Both started last season as freshmen, a rare feat in the SEC. But Jones says they are not reflecting what they did last season…
