State Police released more details today on the March 4th fatal police shooting involving law enforcement from Bossier Parish. The subject led officers on a high speed chase and then crashed his vehicle. L-S-P says when the man got of the vehicle he was armed with an A-R 15 style automatic BB rifle. The investigation continues.

A bill has been filed for the upcoming legislative session that would give prosecutors 60 days instead of 30 to determine if a minor should be charged as an adult if they commit violent crimes like rape, murder, attempted murder and armed robbery…

That’s Metairie Representative Laurie Schlegel who says last month a 17-year-old had his charges dismissed after he escaped juvenile detention and shot a man during a carjacking.

The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness announces its Hurricane Ida Sheltering Program will end May 31st.
