The Pelicans dropped their fourth straight last night as once again the offense failed to score enough points in a 101 to 93 home loss to the Orlando Magic. Grambling remains tied for first place in the SWAC after beating Bethune-Cookman 66-54 in Daytona Beach, Florida last night. Ragin Cajuns softball beat Ole Miss three to two in eight innings in Lafayette last night.

LSU junior centerfielder Dylan Crews was named the SEC Co-Player of the Week after collecting ten hits in four games and driving in seven runs. Crews is hitting .565 after seven games this season. Coach Jay Johnson says Crews is the best player he’s ever coached and makes the game look easy…

Phillip Matulia has been named the Conference USA Hitter of the Week. The senior hit four home runs last week and drove in ten runs. Matulia has five home runs on the season which ranks fifth in the country. Matulia and the Bulldogs will begin a two game series against fourth ranked Ole Miss on Today at Swayze Field.
